Manifesto

Where it all started

Back in the 90s and early 00s, I grew up watching shows Like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, In Living Color, and even Seinfeld. Hip-hop was the soundtrack to my life and sneaker culture was born right before my eyes.

I remember when you could go to the mall & walk into any shoe store and be genuinely excited to find a sneaker or colorway you haven’t seen before.

There was no social media to ruin the surprise or hype up the prices. Back then, sneakers were plentiful and more affordable.

OK, OK, Retro Jordans were always the exception. You still had to wake up early and line up, but generally, everyone who did walked away with a pair — not a bullet in their chest.

Sure, people got jacked for their kicks back then, but it never happened right there in line.

Those were simpler times when sneakers were mostly worn, not resold or displayed on the wall, and the community felt more like a community than a marketplace.

The Evolution of My Sneaker Journey

As I got older, my lifestyle & priorities changed, but I still loved sneakers. However, Shopping for sneakers wasn’t as fun anymore…

🎁 UnBoxing a new pair of sneakers still felt like opening presents on Christmas morning.

But weeks later that excitement turned into regret when I saw those same sneakers just sitting in my closet, unworn.

That money could have been better spent actually using my sneakers for what they’re made for— exploring the world…

I was done blindly buying whatever shoe the algorithms told me to and leaving me with buyer’s remorse. It was time to walk my own path.

I began downsizing my collection, selling off sneakers I didn’t wear anymore and shifting my focus from hyped releases to general releases.

Surprisingly, I discovered tons of colorways and innovative designs that had been overshadowed by whatever was hyped up at the moment.

On top of that…

These sleepers frequently ended up on the “Clearance” rack.

This new strategy helped me save money and brought joy back into sneaker shopping. I started making choices based on personal preference and value, not just following the crowd.

MidSole Deals: Turning a Passion into a Platform

While stuck at my boring day job, I started hunting for sneaker deals online to pass the time. I found tons of crazy bargains.

🤦‍♂️ I couldn’t possibly buy them all myself.

I shared these deals with friends and family, but eventually, they got tired of my constant texts about sneakers (& spending money).

So naturally, I went to social media and the first deal I shared on Reddit went viral!

It turned out I wasn’t the only one looking for something different in the sneaker world. This discovery sparked a business idea.

I discovered an ethical way to make money in the sneaker world without ripping off fellow enthusiasts.

I started my own Sub-Reddit dedicated to curating the best sneaker deals on the web & sharing advice on how to save money shopping for sneakers.

Over the past few years, I’ve dug through over 20,000 deals and shared over 5,000 of them, saving my readers thousands of dollars.

My promise to the sneaker community

I’m here to find great sneakers that don’t always get the attention they deserve. I focus on style, comfort & value.
