“At $93 this starts making sense if you already had New Balance 1906R Shoes - NB Navy/Raincloud on your radar.”
Who it's for
At $93 this starts making sense if you already had New Balance 1906R Shoes - NB Navy/Raincloud on your radar. The 40% discount is good money, especially compared with paying $155, but I am not in automatic-cop territory just because a sale tag is attached to it. The wardrobe still has to make sense.
Runner first, lifestyle second
The 1906 sits in that sweet spot where old running language became a lifestyle shoe again. I like that more than pretending every modern performance runner needs to be styled with trousers. This kind of shoe has enough retro tech and mesh to look athletic without feeling like you just walked out of a marathon corral. That makes it easier with relaxed denim, cargos, sweats, shorts and the wider pants people are wearing now. I still judge the colorway hard because a busy runner can get ugly fast, but the model itself is useful. At $93, the bigger question is whether the color gives you enough outfits. If yes, the discount is doing exactly what I want a deal to do.
Price context
We have 3 tracked observations on this one so far, and $93 is the lowest price we have tracked. I would not call that some all-time low because our history is still young, but it is useful context. The inventory note we captured was "Full size run." That matters because the best theoretical price means nothing if your size is gone. My last check is the boring stuff people skip when the percentage gets exciting: shipping, return policy and fit confidence. A 40% markdown can still get ruined by fifteen or twenty dollars of shipping, a final-sale policy or a return process that makes you regret the whole thing. CCS is where the deal is sitting, so check the current page before buying because prices and sizes move. If you already like New Balance 1906R Shoes - NB Navy/Raincloud, can see how it fits into your wardrobe and you are comfortable at $93, I would rather make the decision on that than sit around trying to nail the absolute bottom. If you are lukewarm, waiting is free. Another deal will come.
Before you buy
The other thing I would not do is overthink a good price once the shoe already passes your personal test. Price history is useful, but it can turn into procrastination. I have watched models get cheaper and cheaper, then the brand catches another wave of popularity and suddenly the deep discounts disappear. I have also watched shoes slowly sell out until the only pairs left are useless sizes. So yes, shop smart, but do not turn deal hunting into a game where you can only win by buying at the exact bottom. If the shoe fits the wardrobe, the size is there and the number feels right, that is enough.
